Radio daze 6. – the not so “Golden Days” of Radio

The Big Serve

Trevor Rosewarne was a larger than life character who I worked with at 5DN Adelaide. Radio was very social in those days and we regularly gathered at “The Welly” (The Wellington Hotel) for a drink and often a meal.

A group of us met for lunch and were ready to start “tucking in” when Trevor noticed there was no salt or pepper on the table.

In a loud, theatrical voice Trevor boomed across the room to the ageing waitress “Condiments, condiments, please.”

To which she replied, “Oh! thank you very much, I’ll pass them on to the chef.”
